To Anderson, Cheryl and the family of Mrs. Edlow. I will always remember your mom's pleasant smile and disposition. I had the pleasure of working directly with her during my tenure as a police officer in the City of Petersburg. Specifically in the Harding St. area. Mrs. Edlow was a strong member of the Neighborhood Watch Organization. She always went the extra mile to do her part in helping to keep the community safe. She truly was the example of the neighbor, in the neighborhood. Thank you for allowing her to help us make the community a safer place to live. May the God of Peace continue to watch over all of you and keep you in his care!

I was one of the fortunate people who was able to spend time listening and sharing stories and enjoying humor and conversation with the lovely, wise, very respected and dignified Josie Edlow. I met her at the breakfast table, in the mornings, at Ginter Hall South. She was the regular table companion and she was resident who sat next to my friends, Helen and Jim Parthemos, We met on February 8, 2010. She and I enjoyed sharing our stories about her life in Petersburg, VA. My late father-in-law and my mother-in-law's family all grew up in Petersburg, VA. I loved to listen to Josie speak about her family, her life, and her son. We exchanged all kinds of pleasantries, current news topics and our beliefs. She was a good listener and a dear friend with a strong, honest and forthright personality. I truly looked forward to seeing her everyday at Ginter Hall South, when I visited my friends. I visited her, in her room, after she returned from her last hospital visit. Helen and I saw her last Thursday, together, when we stopped by her room, before dinner.
I am so sorry Josie is no longer here with us on Earth, to inspire us. I am happy she is with her Father in Heaven and she can breathe easier, now.
My sympathies go out to her family, particularly her son, who was so good to her in her final days with us.

Although no words can really help to ease the loss you bear, just know that you are very close in every thought and prayer.
May the peace which comes from the memories of love shared, comfort you now and in the days ahead.
And may the comfort of God help you during this difficult time.

Dear Family,
Just wish to offer my condolences over the passing of your beloved Josie; mother, family member, and dear friend. I pray that the prayers that are send in your family behalf will uplift you and yours spiritually and give you peace.
The joy of knowing that our Father cares for us and that He is always watching over us is so heartwarming.(Psalms 34:15) Pray to Him in your deepest hour of need and have faith that your prayer will be heard by our Heavenly Father and will be answered, also.
Remain strong and remember the love of your dearly beloved Josie.
