Mrs. Joy Elizabeth (Vineyard) Boren, age 83, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at her home in Eagleton, Arkansas. She was born on March 16, 1942, in Dayton, Arkansas, to parents, the late Dewey Allen and Mattie Viola (Cross) Vineyard.
Joy was born and raised in the Baptist faith. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading, and working word search puzzles. She especially loved her flowers and gardening. She was very family oriented, loving to spend time with her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, and great-great-grandkids.
Mrs. Joy Boren is preceded in death by her husband, George Franklin Boren; her parents, Dewey Allen and Mattie Viola (Cross) Vineyard; by her sisters, Mattie Ridgeway and husband Vernal, Ruth Watson and husband James, Doris Morgan and husband Mac, and June Brooks and husband Ken; as well as by her brother-in-law, Carl Finney.
She is survived by her sons, George A. Boren, John Henry Boren, Andrew Jackson Boren and wife Vicky, Micheal Joe Boren, Alexander Napoleon Boren and wife Jessica; daughter, Joy Elizabeth "Sissy" Hoose and husband Roger Dale; grandchildren, Cecilia Duke and husband Jarrod, Stacey Boren, Jacob Boren, Dakota Boren, Brooklyn Boren, Kenyon Boren, Dayton Boren, Randy Hoose, Rodney Hoose and husband Alan, and Aidan Boren; 9 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Zella Harrison and husband J.D., and Helen Finney; as well as by a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends too numerous to mention.
Cremation services are entrusted to Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at the Beasley-Wood Chapel, in Mena, Arkansas. Brother Troy McIntosh will be officiating under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.
