Joy Millicent Calloo France, a beacon of love and joy, and devout Christian, passed away unexpectedly on October 29, 2025, in Plantation, Florida. Born on April 8, 1951, in Race Course, Clarendon, Jamaica, Joy was a vibrant spirit whose life was marked by her selflessness, kindness, and unwavering devotion to God and her family.

Joy embodied a personality that radiated warmth and charisma. Her caring nature and God-fearing heart touched the lives of many, making her a beloved figure among friends and family alike. She dedicated herself to uplifting those around her, always prioritizing the needs of others above her own. Her laughter and joyful spirit filled countless gatherings with life and love, reminding everyone of the beauty found in everyday moments.

Joy is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Sancia France-Ellis and Gabrielle France-Knott, who carry forth the values she instilled in them. She cherished her role as a grandmother to Liam Ellis, Leila Knott, Leanna Knott, and Rahmya Williams, who brought her immense joy and pride. Her warm presence will forever be etched in their hearts, as she was a constant source of encouragement, guidance, and affection.

Her family was further blessed with the support of sons-in-law Jerid Ellis and Winston Knott, with whom she shared countless fond memories and joyous occasions. Joy's legacy continues through her loving siblings: brothers Wilbert Calloo and Winston Calloo, and sisters Lena Backas, Beverley Black, Hermine Khaloo, Sharon Bowlar, and Charmaine Williams, numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. The bonds they shared were a testament to the strong familial ties she fostered throughout her life.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband and soulmate, Lawrence France, her dear parents James and Doris Calloo, and cherished siblings, Ezekiel, Ivanhoe, and Dascenta, who welcomed her in spirit.

While her departure leaves an undeniable void, her life was a beautiful testament to the power of love, family, and her Christian faith . As we gather to celebrate her remarkable journey, we will carry forward her vibrant legacy, honoring the loving, caring, and selfless woman she was. She will forever remain in our hearts, a guiding star illuminating the path of kindness and devotion she so beautifully walked.

Homegoing service will be held at Plantation United Methodist Church on December 6th, 2025 at 10:00am
