Joy Alice Marshall of Sherwood, AR went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 28, 2025, at 93 years old. Born on January 30,1932, Joy was raised on her parents farm in Humphrey, AR and was one of five children born to Raymond and Edna Eirvin Marshall.
She enjoyed a successful career in accounting and bookkeeping for Fones Brothers and later Southern Farmers. After her retirement, she enjoyed gardening, traveling abroad, and spending time with her extended family and many friends.
She was a long standing member of First Assembly of God in North Little Rock and put her faith into action by loving and serving her community. Joy was known by many as a faithful volunteer and was honored with a volunteer award by Baptist memorial Hospital for more than 7000 hours of loyal service.
Though never married or had kids of her own, she was best known as "Aunt Joy" to many nieces and nephews, who loved her deeply.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Edna Marshall,; brother, Deirl Marshall (Myrina) of Humphrey, AR; two sisters: Nettie Roberts (Boe) of Humphrey, AR and Amy Tedford (Lee) of North Little Rock AR. Joy is survived by a sister, Mercedes Houser Ables of England, AR, along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews, whom she loved.
Visitation is 10:00 am, followed by a funeral at 11:00 am, Monday, January 5, 2026 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park, North Little Rock.
