Joy Lynn Starmer, 66, of Neosho, formerly of Joplin, passed from this life to her eternal home in Heaven on Monday morning, October 27, 2025 while at Carthage Health and Rehab Center.
Joy was born on September 3, 1959 in Denver, CO, daughter of the late John and Jane (Farris) Starmer. Joy had worked for the Neosho Sheltered Workshop for many years. Throughout her life, she enjoyed the simpler things in life. She loved her stuffed animals, listening to Alan Jackson and Donnie Osmond, admiring the Christmas lights, drinking egg nog, collecting picture books and watching western movies. Joy also had a great memory, the strength of a bull and a great sense of humor.
Joy is survived by her sister, Myrna Dodd, of Grand Junction, CO; her brother, John "J.B." Starmer and wife Vicki, of Brisbane, Australia; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Joy was welcomed home by her parents, John and Jane Starmer; her grandma, Inez Dixon; her brother, Mike Starmer; and sister, Marcia Vanderbol; and her favorite brother-in-law, David Dodd.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, Joplin. Josh King, Minister, will be officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
