Joyce Ann Baker

JOYCE ANN BAKER, age 71 years of Adrian, formerly of Hudson, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at her home in Adrian. She was born on November 30, 1938 in Sault St. Marie, Michigan, the daughter of Norman N. and Ida Marie (Sippula) Rhodes. Joyce worked as a nurse’s aide at several area nursing homes. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing and family gatherings. Joyce loved to attend her grandchildren’s school events, especially band concerts and Christmas programs. Joyce is survived by two daughters, Norann (Jeff) White and Mary Eichenberg, three grandchildren, Kodi and Kelsi White and Cory Eichenberg, all of Adrian, five brothers and sisters, Marion Teneyck of Sault St. Marie, Doreen (Nathan) Swailes of Hudson, Thomas (Jean) Rhodes of Illinois, Susan (James) Spuhlor of Wisconsin and Dorothy (William) McDowell of Pickford and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters. Funeral Services for Joyce will be held on Friday, December 11, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Hudson with Pastor Milan Bittenbender officiating. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
