Joyce Barth Obituary
Joyce Kathleen Garrett was born May 11, 1925 in Breckenridge, MN, the daughter of Grant and Christine (Huismann) Garrett. She grew up in Doran, MN, attended elementary school there, and graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1943. Following graduation she moved to California and worked for McDonald Douglas during WWII. On December 4, 1943, Joyce was married to Ronald Barth in Doran. They lived and farmed in the Campbell, MN, Fairmount, ND area until 1979, when they retired and moved to Clitherall Lake in Ottertail County, MN. In 1993 they moved to Battle Lake, MN, where they presently resided.
Joyce enjoyed painting pictures, crocheting, working crossword puzzles, reading, and listening to country music. She loved to eat out and visit with friends, and especially enjoyed time she spent with family.
She is survived by: Her husband: Ronald E. Barth, Battle Lake, MN; Her children: Dorothy (John) Peterson, Battle Lake, MN; Doug (Gloria) Barth, Thief River Falls, MN; Ronald (Kathleen) Barth, Clitherall, MN; Grant (Deborah) Barth, Campbell, MN; Laura (Shannon) Burau, Columbus, ND; Randy (Patti) Barth, Thief River Falls, MN; Kathy Barth, Battle Lake, MN; Her 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; Her sisters: Donna Huntley and Patricia Guthrie, both of Bartelsville, OK; and Cheryl (Del) Casler, Sacramento, CA; Many nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by: Her parents: Grant and Christine Garrett; Her sister: Phyllis Lewis; Her brother: Gary Garrett
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 17, 2007 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge, MN. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
Her funeral will be Thursday, October 18, 2007 at 2:00 PM, Doran Presbyterian Church, Doran, MN
Officiating:Chaplain Jim Noel
Interment: Riverside Cemetery, Campbell, MN
