Joyce (King) Baudouin, 95, of
Aurora, Illinois, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 17, 2026. She was born April 7, 1930, in
Concord, New Hampshire, to Earl and Bernice (Adams) King.
In 1948, Joyce came to Aurora to attend Aurora College, where she earned a degree in education in 1952. On May 5, 1956, she married Paul E. Baudouin, and they shared 30 years together as they built a life centered on family, faith, and community.
Joyce devoted many years to teaching in both West Aurora School District #129 and East Aurora School District #131. Many of her former students remembered her for her patience and encouragement. Teaching was not just her profession but her calling, and she cared deeply for the students she served.
Joyce maintained a lifelong love for New England, especially Lake Winnipesaukee, where she cherished many memories. She was a member of the Advent Christian Church and attended New England Congregational Church in Aurora.
Music was another great passion in Joyce's life. From a young age, she loved to sing, and her beautiful soprano voice continued to bless many college and church activities throughout the years.
Above all else, Joyce was a devoted wife and mother who always put her family first. Nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with those she loved. She was an enthusiastic supporter of her children's activities, spending many years cheering on Aurora Boys Baseball, Aurora Area Girls Softball, and Boy Scout Troop 30 at Abraham Lincoln School.
Joyce is survived by her children, Paul E. (Robin) Baudouin, II of St. Charles, Illinois, and Amy Baudouin (Carla Peters) of
Aurora, Illinois; three grandchildren, Bryan Baudouin, Eric Baudouin, and Jenna Baudouin (Dan Hammermeister); and two great-grandchildren, Mason and Evan Hammermeister. She is also survived by nieces Miriam (Colby) Smith, Judi (Colby) Streveler, and Evy (Bezanson) Nowell, along with several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Baudouin, and her sisters, Doris Colby and Barbara Bezanson.
A graveside service will be held at Lincoln Memorial Park, Aurora. Times are pending and will be updated.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New England Congregational Church, 406 W. Galena Blvd.,
Aurora, IL 60506.
