Joyce E. Benedict

Joyce E. (Julian) Benedict, of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025, at the age of 64. She was the beloved wife of the late Matthew W. Benedict, Sr.

Born in Pittsburgh to the late Anthony and Agnes (O'Hara) Julian, Joyce grew up in Levittown and carried the warmth of her upbringing throughout her life. A devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan, an avid car enthusiast, and an active member of her local church, Joyce lived with enthusiasm, faith, and a deep sense of community.

Nothing meant more to Joyce than her family. Raising her two children in Bucks County was the joy of her life, and she took immense pride in seeing them grow, pursue their dreams, and earn advanced degrees. To Joyce, their accomplishments were her greatest blessing.

Later in life, Joyce found friendship, love, and unwavering devotion with Jimmy, who remained faithfully by her side until she moved on from this world.

Joyce is survived by her son, Matthew W. Benedict, Jr., who is practicing medicine, her daughter, Sarah Rook, a dedicated special education teacher, and her grandson, Ethan Rook, Jr., all of whom brought her boundless happiness.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her graveside service on Friday, November 28, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., at Resurrection Cemetery, 5201 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA 19020.

Joyce will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
