Joyce Faye Holland Boatwright, age 88, of Milton, Florida, went to her Heavenly home March 30, 2024. She was surrounded by her sons, whom she loved very much. She was also known as Mrs. B. to many, especially at Southern Raceway, where she spent 28 years working the ticket booth.
Joyce was a faithful member of Hickory Hammock Baptist Church and a fervent prayer warrior for all who needed prayer. She did not take that job lightly. She wanted everyone, especially her family to come to know the LORD, Jesus Christ. That was her passion. She loved her church family and especially her pastors, Carl Gallups, Greg Robards, Jimmy Rinehart and Ray Harper.
Joyce was born August 7, 1935, in Pensacola, Florida where she resided most of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents Woodrow Holland and Margarite and Edwin Wehmeier. brother Glen Holland and sister Margarite.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 54 years, Hubert R. Boatwright, sons, Raymond (Lisa) Harper and Hubert (Ange) Boatwright. She had 6 Grandchildern, who she adored, Ray (Iris) Harper, Savannah (Devin) Rorie, Taylor (Tucker) Boatwright, Kyle Boatwright,
Josh Boatwright and Jordyn Boatwright. She also had 6 Great Grandchildren, Lilli, Lakeley, Elizabeth and Rayleigh Harper and Carson and Jaxson Gaines. Also survived by 2 brothers, Edwin (Liz) and Bobby (Pat) Wehmeier, sister in law, Juanita Davis and many nieces and nephews.
Joyce's celebration of Life will be Friday, April 5, 2024 at Pensacola Memorial Gardens. Family visitation is at 9:30, followed by friends at 10:00 and service at 11:00. Burial will follow immediately after at the cemetery.
