Joyce Boerman Obituary
Joyce was born September 23, 1934, in East Martin, Michigan, to Willis and Hilda (Albers) Lampen. She graduated in 1951 from Holland Christian High School and married Floyd Boerman in 1955. Joyce and Floyd raised their four children in Hamilton and they were members of Bentheim Reformed Church. They were both very active Gideons, and Joyce was a Gideon for over 50 years. Joyce retired from Holland Hospital after several years of service. Floyd preceded Joyce in death in 1993. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law Melvin Van Rhee, great-grandson Owen Selmic, sister Faith Hoffman, in-laws Bud Hoffman, Garry Peters, Loren Boerman.
She is survived by her children: Carol Van Rhee, Scott (Ginger) Boerman, Larry (Shelly) Boerman, Sheila Hoffman; 11 grandchildren: Jill Van Rhee, Jeff Van Rhee, Keith Van Rhee, Erin and Esad Selmic, Paige and Brian Janson, Katie Boerman, Evan and Jenna Boerman, Phil and Nicki Boerman, Danny and Brooke Boerman, Kirk and Joann Boerman, Drew and Jessi Boerman; 14 great-grandchildren, siblings: Wayne and Jane Lampen, Verna Mae and Ken Berens, Darwin and Linda Lampen, in-laws: Edith and Zuke Eding, Rose Boerman, and many extended family members.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Bentheim Reformed Church, 3997 38th Ave., Hamilton MI 49419. Visiting hours will be 5-8 PM, Friday, at Bentheim Reformed Church. Interment will be in Bentheim Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International.
