Joyce M. Boob (Alters)85, of Centre Hall, was received into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. Born on February 4, 1941, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence S. and Isabella M. (Ulrich) Alters.

Joyce graduated from Penns Valley High School in 1959. She worked as a manufacturing technician for Gettig Pharmaceuticals for 15 years before becoming a lab technician at Supelco. She retired after 28 years of service with them.

Joyce attended the Faith United Methodist Church in Bellefonte. She was an avid reader and enjoyed various creative activities such as making jewelry, working with ceramics, and sewing. She had a passion for painting and always added her own personal touch to each piece of art she would create. She was a woman devoted to her family and her faith. She was selfless and very giving. She was charitable in many ways, whether it was financially or with her time, if she could help or assist in some way, she was always honored to do so.

Joyce is survived by her daughters, Sheila M. Stevenson and her husband, David, of Bellefonte and Angela K. Jordan and her husband, Todd, of Aaronsburg and her brother, Sam Alters of Spring Mills.

Along with her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by an infant brother, Wayne Andrew Alters.

A viewing will be held on Monday, February 9, 2026, from 11am – 12 noon at the Barbara Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, Inc in Centre Hall. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12 noon with Pastor Andy Morgan officiating. A graveside service will be held at the Reformed Cemetery in Aaronsburg.
