Joyce A. Boss, 76, of Charlevoix, passed away on April 20, 2023 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey.
Joyce was born on March 9, 1947, in Wilmore, KY, the daughter of William B. and Eleanor L. (Minton) Holcomb. She graduated from Jessamine County High School in 1965, where she excelled in Glee Club, and was a member of the Beta Club, and National Honor Society.
She met her future husband Ike in 1964 while he was attending Asbury College in Wilmore. They were married June 11th 1966.
She worked most of her career in banking. She was well known as a teller at First State Bank, and later as head teller at Charlevoix State Bank.
She enjoyed reading, word puzzles, cooking, baking and was a very good seamstress. Besides watching many sporting events, she was an avid Kentucky Wildcat Basketball fan.
Surviving are 2 children, Melissa (Jason) Wyglendowski of Charlevoix, Jeffrey (Carrie) Boss of Charlevoix, 2 grandchildren, Sarah and Erica Wyglendowski, a sister Carolyn (Dale) Morris of Harrodsburg, KY, a sister-in-law Marlene Terry of Lubbock, TX, and 15 nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Dwight "Ike" Boss, infant daughter Christie Lynn Boss, and infant grandson Jason Thomas Wyglendowski.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 2023 at the Charlevoix Community Reformed Church.
Funeral services will follow on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Chip Sauer officiating.
Burial will be private in Brookside Cemetery, Charlevoix.
