Joyce Marie Brassart

Joyce Marie Brassart, 79, of Laton, California, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025, peacefully at home with her daughter at her side after a short but hard-fought battle with cancer.

Joyce was born on November 2, 1946, in Hanford, California, to Manuel and Mary Ann Menezes. She was preceded in death by her parents and her oldest brother, Richard Menezes.

Joyce is survived and deeply missed by her loving husband Alan of 61 years; her three children, AJ (Kris) Brassart, Macrina (Robert) Carreiro, and Troy (Tammie) Brassart; her eight wonderful grandchildren, Chase (Briana), Trevor (Nicole), Caitlan (Taylor), Ashley, Elizabeth (Pierson), Kelsea (Jonathan), Brandon, and Chance (Megan); and her fourteen beautiful great-grandchildren, Kylee, Haylee, Bentlee, Paxton, Summer, Hunter, Forrest, Riley, Addisyn, Austyn, Brixley, Logan, Sawyer, and Camden. She is also survived by her two brothers, Eddie (Mona) Menezes and Lenard (Corena) Menezes, along with many extended family members and dear friends.

Those who knew and loved Joyce will remember her for her infectious smile, her sassiness, and her sweet gullibility. She loved chickens, tended to a yard full of garden flags, and made tacos that family and friends would drive miles to enjoy. You could always find her cheering on each grandchild at every sporting event, always their most loyal supporter. Her warmth, humor, and unwavering love created a legacy that will be forever cherished.

Though Joyce's physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift everyone who was blessed to know her. May her memory be a lasting blessing, and may we carry forward her legacy of love, joy, and compassion in all that we do.

Services will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Laton, CA. Recitation of the Rosary and the Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 10:00 AM, with interment to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Laton. A reception will be held after the graveside service at the Laton Lions Hall, located at 6345 E. Nares Ave., Laton, CA 93242.
