Joyce Brown, age 84, passed away on January 14, 2026 at her home on Taylors Island.
She was born on May 6, 1941, in Stone, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Taylor and Lassie Williams.
Joyce moved to the Washington DC area at the age of 17. She worked for Litten Industries and then PEPCO where she retired. She and Shawn built their home on the farm on Taylors Island where she used her skills as an avid gardener and her green thumb to create gardens so beautiful that people slowed down or stopped in to admire them. She was a wonderful cook, and loved crabbing netting her crabs on the Trott line. Joyce loved sunsets, wildlife, car rides with Shawn and the Eastern Shore way of life.
In addition to her parents Joyce was preceded in death by her sister Deanna Justice.
She is survived by the love of her life and partner of 36 years Shawn Raudenbush; Son Darren (Chrissy) Brown of Lothian, Md. and Daughter Angela (Clarke) Howard of Cape Coral, FL.; grandchildren Taylor (Brandon) Dodson, Sarah (Jason) Miner, Justin Brown and Jordan (Drew) Haynie; great grandchildren Quinn, Tatum, Brooks and Oaklen; her sisters Shelby Hill and Brenda Williams.
