Joyce Marie "Pomerville" Converse

Joyce Marie (Pomerville) Converse, 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, in Liverpool, N.Y. She was born on June 4, 1937, to the late George & Freda (Bristol) Pomerville in Watertown, N.Y. Joyce was one of thirteen siblings having ten sisters and two brothers. Joyce married Richard J. Converse on May 5, 1962, and they resided in Watertown before moving to North Syracuse. Sadly, Richard passed away at the age of 33, and Joyce whole-heartedly and lovingly raised their four children with grace. Joyce worked at St. Joseph's Hospital as a clerical worker for over 30 years before finally retiring around 2002.

Joyce was an amazing spouse, mother, grandmother, sister and friend as she always put other's needs above her own and cherished her family above all else. She loved playing games, cooking (her chicken & dumplings were to die for), going on long walks, watching Family Feud and Gunsmoke, dancing and most of all spending time with her beloved family. Joyce was a devoted and lifelong Catholic at Saint Rose of Lima Church.

Joyce is survived by her four children, Lori Kearney of Bridgeport, Joseph (Pamela) of

Liverpool, Eric of Liverpool, and Steven (Cindy) of Palermo; 8 grandchildren, Edward and Richard (Haley) Kearney, Sarah (Brandon) Nickerson, Nicole Regal, Joey and Kali Converse, Steven (Sara) Converse, and Kaitlin Converse; 13 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Patricia Porter, Helen Moore and Beatrice Huberdeau, all of Watertown, N.Y.; as well as many more close friends and family. She will greatly be missed.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. (noon) immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Joyce's life at 12:00 P.M. (noon) at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse. There will be a spring burial in Glenwood Cemetery, Watertown, NY.
