Joyce Ann Cucura

Joyce Ann Cucura, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at the age of 78.

Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, on May 5, 1947, Joyce was a dedicated military wife who skillfully managed moves and made a home for her family while stationed in various locations throughout the country. For many years, Joyce was a familiar and valued face as a dedicated employee at Dr. Joseph Femia's Ophthalmology practice, where her professionalism and friendly nature were deeply appreciated. Joyce's life was defined by love and devotion to her family. She was the dedicated wife of her husband, Andrew Cucura, with whom she shared 55 wonderful years of marriage.

She was happiest when surrounded by friends and family, especially when indulging in her favorite pastimes; soaking up the sun in Florida, alongside her daughter and beloved grandson; spending hot summer days staying cool in her daughters' pool, and of course, enjoying her much-loved activity of shopping with her daughters and friends. Joyce's legacy is carried on by her devoted family. Her husband Andrew, her daughter, Beth Reilly; her daughter, Amy MacDougall and her husband Joshua; her cherished grandson and best friend, Matthew Reilly; her brother Patrick Sheridan and her many loving nieces and nephews. Joyce's gentle spirit, bright smile, and constant love will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory remains a source of warmth and sunshine for her family.

Family and friends are invited to call at St. Peter's Church, 200 N. James St., Rome, NY 13440 on Thursday, December 18th, from 10-11:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m.
