Joyce Ann "Smith" Danzy

Joyce Ann Smith Danzy, a lifelong resident of Mobile, AL, was born May 15, 1953 to the union

of Robert H. Smith and Eddie P. Davis in Butler County Greenville, AL. She passed away

Wednesday, March 11, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.

Joyce confessed Christ at an early age and was active in the religious community. Joyce was well

known for her "Special Gift" of Singing throughout the City of Mobile.

Joyce attended Central High School, and she furthered her education and became a Certified

Nursing Assistant. She worked diligently throughout Mobile until she retired.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley B. Danzy; father, Robert H. Smith; mother,

Eddie P. (Jeremiah) Davis; sisters: Dorothy S. Bell and Jeanette Smith; brothers: Robert H.

Smith, Jr. and James E. Smith; children: Jermaine B. Smith and Darryl D. Smith; and great-

granddaughter, Tameyia Traylor.

Joyce leaves to cherish her legacy and precious memories, a daughter, Marketras Beck; son,

Tyrone L. Smith; fourteen grandchildren, one devoted, DeShaunna Beck; ten great-

grandchildren, one devoted Braylen Rembrert; one sister, Sarah S. Horton; a daughter-in-law,

Althea B. Smith; four nieces: Yolanda (Michael) Johnson, Pamela Blanks, Dawn Smith, and one

devoted, Ethel Dortch; five nephews: Jerry (Dorothy) Smith, John Smith, Terry (Sophia) Smith,

and Derrick (Hettie) Smith; one devoted nephew, Joseph (Dorothy) Smith; one devoted great-

niece, Rachel Smith; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends; four devoted friends:

John, Geneva, Carl McCall, and Noreen Hume.
