With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joyce "Mimi" Eldon on February 17, 2025. Darling daughter to the late Arnold and Alice St. Onge. Beloved wife of the late Robert, for 32 years until his passing. Cherished mother of Dawn (Todd Dries) Amez, Lori (Tommy) Simoncic, and Bobby (Anne) Eldon. Loving grandmother of Devin (Rachael), Dalton (Alyssa), Joshua (Anna), Nathan (Brooke), Avery, Cooper, and Emery. Proud great-grandmother of Maeve. Dear sister to Michael (Christina) St. Onge, Deborah (the late Ron) Houchins, Bill (Susan) St. Onge, Carrie (Tom) Wickersham, and the late Cherie (Steven) Essig. Adored auntie to many nieces and nephews. And of course, best Dog Mom ever to her most loyal baby, Coco Chanel.
Joyce had a magical way of leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her warmth, charm, and genuine spirit made her unforgettable to all who had the privilege of crossing her path. It became a running joke that no matter where you went, there was a 100% chance Joyce would bump into someone she knew.
Maybe you knew Joyce from her love for sports. Sun-visor in place, cow-bell in hand. Cheering on her grandchildren louder than anyone. Traveling for tournaments and games, she was always there. No matter the distance or weather. She was everyone's "Mimi". And how 'bout them Tigers, or Lions, or Wings, or Wolverines. She was forever a faithful fan.
Maybe you knew her as a chef. A master of Spaghetti Pies and Meat Pies. The queen of Cookie Day. As well as a connoisseur of Pepsi (in an ice-cold can, please), coney dogs, and Big Boy Slim Jims.
Maybe you knew her as a dedicated member of the community. She served on the Chippewa Valley School Board, committed many years to Romeo Schools as an Executive Administrative Assistant, and was active with her condo board.
Maybe you knew Joyce for some of her favorite things. Crossword puzzles and her People Magazines, tending to her garden, and walking her dog. Book club and card club and the friends that came with them. Watching "It's A Wonderful Life" at Christmastime. Standing in the garage, soaking in the sounds and smells of a rainstorm. Traveling to Venice, Florida with her family to chase the sun.
She had an infectious smile and a pee-your-pants laugh. The type of person who would call you to tell you just had to go outside to see how beautiful the moon was that night. The type of person who would honk and scream "I love you!" out the window until she drove out of sight.
Joyce was so many things to so many people, but most of all, she was so very loved. She will be sorely missed. Have I told you today?

As a two-time breast cancer survivor herself, Joyce was an active participant in the
Relay For Life for several years. A true Relayer, she would stay up all night long walking to raise funds for the cause. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you consider a donation to The
American Cancer Society in her honor.
