Joyce Remington Hilton

1935 ~ 2025

Joyce Remington Hilton, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, passed away on September 20, 2025.

She was born on January 13, 1935 in Provo, Utah to Merland and Myrle Remington. In 1943 her father passed away from exposure due to a sudden snowstorm while deer hunting. Her mother remarried Harold Armitstead and moved the family to Pleasant Grove where she grew up working on their farm, graduated from High school and married her High school sweetheart Floyd "Jim" Hilton on June 18, 1953 in the Salt Lake City Temple.

Together Joyce and Jim raised three children Lisa, Mark and Eric that blessed them with 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Joyce and Jim lived in multiple cities throughout Utah settling in American Fork 1976.

Joyce was an active member of the LDS church serving numerous positions. She enjoyed her time attending and working at the temples.

Along with raising her children, she had a career as a nurse for 30 plus years working with multiple doctors and creating excellent relationships throughout the communities.

Joyce's greatest moments were the times she spent with her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Overnight sleep overs on the floor together, attending sporting events and activities, multiple trips to the cabin and St. George trips, and just rocking with them as infants were some of her favorite memories.

She also enjoyed many family trips to Alaska to fish, sightseeing in Washington DC and New York, Carribean cruise, Hawaii and multiple Christmas shopping trips to San Francisco.

She is survived by her three children: Lisa (Dennis) Schoonover, Mark (Lori) Hilton and Eric Hilton.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Jim, brother Lloyd, sister Karen, sister in-law Judy, daughter in-law Jennifer, grandchildren Alec and McKell.

Special thanks to Donell Walker, nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends that provided all their love and support throughout the years.

Funeral services will be held Monday September 29, 2025 at 11:00 am at the American Fork 11th Ward Chapel located at, 673 East 300 North American Fork, Utah.
