Joyce Annette Horn was born on a beautiful sunny day in Los Angeles, California on July 04, 1934, to Othmar and Jessie Schadler. She passed away and went to Jesus on October 10, 2025, in Oregon City, Oregon. Joyce was 91.

Born Joyce Annette Schadler, Joyce was raised in busy Los Angeles while her dad, Othmar Schadler worked daily at the Kelley Kar Company, at that time was the world’s largest used car dealership and later became The Kelley Blue Book. Joyce was an only child, so she had plenty of time with mom and dad. After years of watching dad go to work at Kelley Kar Company, Joyce worked there for many years.

In the late 1960s Joyce and her parents left California and headed north to near Grants Pass, Sunny Valley.

Joyce raised 5 children living on 50 acres in the mountains. Joyce enjoyed gardening, painting, crafts and cake decorating. Joyce and her friend, Hazel enjoyed the bible, Jesus, the church and potluck get togethers. Later in life she made more friends with Tammy, Pat, Ellen and many more from the area. She also loved music and a good mariachi band along with singing a little too loud at church.

Joyce liked to travel, she occasionally loved to go to the Oregon Coast, especially Bandon and Sisters, Oregon to view the craft and gift stores. She did make it back to California a few times and spent some time in Huntington Beach and Catalina Island. In the early 2000s she even took a fun vacation to Honolulu and Waikiki Hawaii, NYC and then Atlantic City.

Joyce loved animals. She loved to visit Horse and Alpaca Farms. She spent her final years with her favorite dog, Jake.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Othmar and Jessie Schadler; son, Glenn Horn; and grandsons, Kyle Horn and Lee Horn. Joyce is survived by her children,  Heidi Sharrard of Grant Pass, Oregon, George Horn of Merlin, Oregon, Wendy Horn of Wolf Creek, Oregon, and Mark Horn; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at Sunny Valley Outreach Ministries at a later date.
