Joyce Jenks, age 73, of Randlett, passed away May 26, 2025.
She was born September 26, 1951, in Roosevelt, to Hazel Jenks. She played basket ball in her younger years and graduated from Union High School.
Joyce worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs in the Social Services department. She had a passion for horses along with her pets: dog, “Dusty” and her cats. She was the director of the Jenks Memorial Rodeo that was held for several years in Ft. Duchesne. She was a talented beadworker, an die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan, and adored Chris Ledoux – traveling many places to attend his concerts. She loved her family and though she didn’t have children of her own, she was a second mother to many – especially her nieces and nephews.
Joyce is survived by her niece, Suzanna (Cleve) Washington-Cuch & kids, Ft. Duchesne; nephews, Verlun Black (Ashley Denny) & kids, Roosevelt; Larry Shortman, Salt Lake City; Delano (Allison) Black & boys; Krwin Black; numerous other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and relatives; and her beloved dog, “Dusty.”
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Byron Arrive, Phillip Jenks, Colene Black, and Roderick Black.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Randlett Cemetery. There will be a viewing at the Hullinger Mortuary on Tuesday from 9:00 am to 5:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9-10 a.m.
