Joyce Marie Leake, 87, of Lebanon, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born December 2, 1938, in Marion County, Joyce faithfully served as a secretary at Marion County High School for many years. She was a devoted member of Saint Augustine Catholic Church and lived her life grounded in faith, family, and service.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, Francis Leroy Leake, Sr.; her parents, Francis “F.K.” Beaven, Jr., and Mary Rose “Rosie” Cissell Beaven; and three sisters, Jean Donahue, Rose Mary Donahue, and Ann Bunch.
She is survived by her four children, Francis Leroy Leake, Jr., Richard Timothy Leake (Kerri), Lisa Marie Osbourne (Jim), and Kevin Anthony Leake, Sr. (Ellen); one honorary daughter, Mary Teresa Ballinger (J.W.); ten grandchildren, Jennifer Marie Osbourne (Jeremy Chesser), Brian Joseph Osbourne (Madison), Kevin Anthony Leake, Jr. (Kyndra), Johannah Claire Leake, Noah Douglas Leake, James Ballinger, Jr. (Jessica), Melissa B. Dudeck (Joey), Kara Leake, Terrence Leake, and Kade Leake; eight great-grandchildren, Tinsley Marie Osbourne, Owen and Theodore Osbourne, Kevin A. “Tre” Leake III, Kennedy Leake, Jalynn Dudeck, Joey Dudeck, and Jace Dudeck; one sister, Debbie Higgins (Earl) of Campbellsburg; and four brothers, Ken (Lois) Beaven, David (Eva) Beaven, and Bobby Beaven, all of Louisville, and Dick (Sheilla) Beaven of Henderson.
Cremation was chosen. Private visitation for extended family will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a private memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Committal Rites will follow at Saint Augustine Cemetery. Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant will preside.
Urn bearers will be her grandsons, Brian Osbourne and Kevin Leake, Jr. Honorary urn bearers will be Jennifer Osbourne, Johannah Leake, Noah Leake, Jay Ballinger, and Melissa Dudeck.
In place of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023 in honor of her daughter, Lisa Osbourne or The Crohn's & Colitis Foundation, 733 Third Ave, Suite 510, New York, NY 10017 in honor of her grandson, Noah Leake.
