Joyce Ledbetter

PONTOTOC - PONTOTOC - Carrie Joyce Ledbetter, 89, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Sunshine Health Care in Pontotoc, where she had lived since 2017. Born in Morgan County, AL, on December 30, 1935, she married the love of her life, Thomas E. Ledbetter, in July 1953. They moved to Pontotoc, MS, in 1965 and raised their family there. A member of New Hope Baptist Church, she worked at Ram Golf for 22 years. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved cooking family meals, especially her famous biscuits and chicken and dumplings.

Survivors include her daughters, Doris Hawkins and Jeanie Conlee (Chris); her sons, Thomas Ledbetter Jr., Ricky Ledbetter, and Randy Ledbetter (Rene); her grandchildren, Roger Hawkins Jr. (Leigh), James Hawkins (Desiree), Jason Hawkins, Chris Ledbetter, Cory Ledbetter, Eddie Ledbetter (Charlotte), Amanda Reynolds (Reed), Michael Ledbetter (Cassie), Kerri Ledbetter, Steven Conlee (Brooke), and London Warner (Cory); 20 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Ledbetter, Sr.; her daughter, Kathy Jo Ledbetter; her grandson, Brad Hawkins; her mother, Ola Slater; her sister, Gladys Maze; her brother, Charles Slater; her son-in-law, Roger Hawkins Sr.; and her daughter-in-law, Judy Ledbetter.

Services will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at 2 PM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc, with Bro. Steven Conlee, Bro. Chris Conlee, and Bro. Kerry Nelson officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5-8 PM and Wednesday afternoon from 12 PM until service time. Burial will follow at Baldwin Memorial Gardens. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Roger Hawkins, Jr., James Hawkins, Jason Hawkins, Eddie Ledbetter, Steven Conlee, Michael Ledbetter, Kerri Ledbetter, Reed Reynolds, Cory Warner, Chris Ledbetter, and Cory Ledbetter.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Roger Hawkins III, Riley Hawkins, Shane Hawkins, Aaron Ledbetter, Preston Conlee, Evan Conlee, Camden Conlee, Coley Warner, Rhett Warner, Finn Warner, Draven Ledbetter, Dominick Ledbetter, Harrison Ledbetter, and Mason Ledbetter.
