Joyce Elaine Bendschneider was born on September 1, 1940, in Grinnell, Iowa to Marge Bendschneider. She was lovingly adopted by her grandparents, George and Edith (Niestedt) Bendschneider, and raised on the family farm southeast of Victor. Joyce graduated with the Victor High School Class of 1958.
On June 5, 1975, she was united in marriage to Verle Lint in Coldwater, Ohio. The couple made their home in Victor. Joyce worked at Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids, the Victorian Inn in Victor, and Kinze Manufacturing in Williamsburg, where she dedicated over 30 years of faithful service. Whether through her work or her warm presence in the community, Joyce left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She dearly loved her family, and her greatest joy came from time spent with her grandchildren. She was their biggest fan, never missing a chance to attend their events or cheer them on. Joyce also enjoyed watching sports and listening to old country music. A longtime member of St. James Lutheran Church, she found strength and purpose in her faith. Joyce will be remembered for her quiet strength, her loyal heart, and the way she made others feel seen and loved.
Joyce is survived by her son, Kyle (Susan) Lint of Brooklyn; step-children, Sherrie Hassebrock, John (Becky) Lint, Carla Ribby, and Judith Mahoney; grandchildren, Erica James, Justin Roth, Shane Lint, Ashley Lint, Lindsey Lewis, Ryan Faas, Storm Ribby, Desiray Sebetka, Darian McFatridge, Dakota McFatridge, Kelsey Lint, Kaylee Lint, Elijah Lint, Jordan Kasper, and Jaylin Van Lancker; several great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Jim Smith of Brooklyn, Christel Olson of Cedar Rapids, and Reynold Brown of Victor. She was preceded in death by her mother; husband, Verle Lint; son, Edward Van Lancker; and son in law, Brian Hassebrock.
