“I am the Resurrection and the life.  Those who believe me even though they die, will live."

John 11:25

Joyce Looney was born March 3, 1948, in Jewett, Texas and peacefully passed away on September 25, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Looney; son, Kyle; parents, Ernest and Auda Mae Hardee; brothers; Nelson Herren, Joe Hardee and Tommy Hardee; and sisters, Pearl McBride and Dena Bottoms. She is survived by son, Randy; two grandsons, Cody and Wyatt; and sister, Jean Hardee Bottoms of Bellville, Illinois. She was blessed with lots of nieces, nephews and cousins of whom she greatly enjoyed.

Joyce’s passion in life was taking care of people; especially her brother, Tommy; husband, Bill; and sister, Dena. They all lived a better life because of her loving care. When it was time for Joyce to be cared for, she was blessed to have Sharon, Nikki and Tina to help her.

Joyce loved a simple life, loving her family, friends and sitting on her front porch admiring her flowers and waving to her wonderful neighbors. She was always ready to offer coffee, tea or ice cold drink to all who stopped by. Joyce enjoyed flea markets, yard sales and even had a flower shop in her home. She loved making all kinds of crafts.

About a year ago Joyce was diagnosed with cancer. She battled it with humility and determination. She was not going to let it define her. She depended on her son Randy, but when the time came hospice was called in.

One can “Only Imagine” the amazing welcome she received in heaven! Joyce will be clearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

We can all take comfort in knowledge that we will meet again someday.

A funeral service honoring Joyce's life will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Walters' Buffalo Funeral Home, Buffalo, Texas.  Bro.
