Joyce Ann Malvin, age 89, of Willmar, passed away Monday, December 15, at her residence.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30, at the Church of St. Mary. Arrangements are entrusted to the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. www.petersonbrothers.com
Joyce was born on December 12, 1936, in Winnebago, Minnesota, the daughter of Clifford and Elizabeth (McDermott) Malvin. In 1938, the family moved to Blomkest where she attended District #91 country school and graduated from Danube High School in 1954. Following graduation, she moved to Minneapolis and worked for Prudential Insurance Company until retiring in 1991. Following retirement, she moved to Willmar and worked part-time as a desk clerk at the AmericInn Motel and also at Roosevelt Elementary School in the lunchroom. She volunteered at the Rice Memorial Hospital gift shop and also as an election judge. She enjoyed getting together with family and friends, taking walks, reading and traveling.
Along with her love for life, she had two beautiful Shih, Tzu, companions, Misty and Penny, who made her life complete. She gave them a wonderful life, and in return her faithful companions filled her days with joy and completeness.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Johanna Malvin of Willmar, besides several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Jerome Malvin, Mike (and Mary) Malvin, Patrick (and Patricia) Malvin and Judd (and Judy) Malvin; and one sister, Evelyn (and Bill) Hansen.
