Joyce C Martin

Joyce C Martin, 98, passed away peacefully on November 6th 2025, in her home in Chesapeake, Virginia, surrounded by loved ones. Born September 30th, 1927, to Ethel Ward and Thomas Jefferson Cooper in Charlotte, North Carolina, she resided in Charlotte until meeting her future husband, Loyce "Joe" Martin. Joe and Joyce went on to spend the next 68 years together until Joe's passing in 2015. In that time, Joyce not only supported her husband through his various military and civilian careers, but she also built a loving home and spread that love and support through her active work throughout her community and church. Joyce will be remembered for her affectionate wit, compassionate heart, and unwavering support of her family.

Joyce is survived by her three children: Pamela Baughman and husband Loren Baughman, Brenda Bigelow, and Jimmy Lewis "Chip" Martin, her grandchildren: Matthew, Katherine, Rachel, Ashley, Katrina, Chelsea, and Skye, and her great-grandchildren: Lukas, Clair, Daniel, and Emma Grace.
