Joyce McFadden Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Macken Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Oct. 30, 2024.
Joyce Renae McFadden, born on June 29th, 1956, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on Saturday, October 26th, 2024 peacefully at home. Joyce was the devoted mother of Sean and Colin McFadden and the cherished grandmother of Lucas, Evelyn, Georgia, and Isabella McFadden. Her gentle spirit, unwavering patience, and deep love for her family touched the hearts of everyone who knew her.
Born with a natural gift for music, Joyce filled her home with melodies from the piano, sharing her talent and love for music with her family and community. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her every step and serving as a source of strength for her and those around her. Known for her kindness and humility, Joyce was always ready to listen and offer comfort, creating an atmosphere of warmth and compassion wherever she went.
After graduating from St. Olaf College with a Bachelor of Art in Psychology, she went on to obtain an MLS in Library Science Health Informatics. She was a Public Services Supervisor with the Mayo Clinic Library when she retired in March 2023. She was brilliant, hard-working, and well-respected in all of her endeavors.
Her devotion to her family was evident in every moment she spent with them, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, grace, and faith. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and they will forever remember her as a source of encouragement, wisdom, and unconditional love.
A Letter to Grandma,
Hi Grandma, I know last night you sadly passed away, but I wanted to text you one last time. Today I am going to make by far the most big text I have ever made to show you how much I truly love and appreciated you and to say the goodbye I didn't get to say in real life. I loved how you would send me jokes even when I was in school and I sometimes couldn't respond. I love how you always took care of us no matter what, and "us" meaning Sissy, Grandpa, Dad, Mom, and me. I love all of the stuff you guys send us, as a couple of examples things like cards and clothing because it means a lot to us no matter what the gift was. I am sorry that you didn't get to see Uncle Colin's new baby in person, but I hope you get to see her in heaven. And speaking of heaven I hope you met Jesus and all of your loved ones who have sadly passed on in heaven like your mom or Muffin. But all of it aside, I love you so very much and I hope you have the best of luck on your journey up there in heaven.
Sincerely Lucas and the family.
Joyce will be dearly missed, but her memory will live on in the lives of those she touched. She was a beacon of love, patience, and faith, and her impact will continue to inspire us all.
Services will be held at Zumbro Lutheran Church ELCA on Friday, November 1st, 2024, at 10 am CST with a short fellowship to follow.

Band member; both my self and Joyce played clarinet for Hayfield High School. She was certainly musical!! Joyce was such a beautiful person. So very Sorry for your loss and her classmates at Hayfield High. Saw her at one of reunions and was the same as I remember, a warm wonderful spiritual soul!! I will miss that she is no longer in this world: we need more like people like Joyce. Rest In Peace, my dear friend!! Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always.
