Art, I was so saddened when I learned of Joyce's passing, I was out of town and did not hear about her death until today, 11/28/08. Joyce taught both of my girls at Jackson Davis and she was one of the kindest teachers they ever had. Art, I know your heart is broken because you have lost the love of your life and you two were so precious together. I'm so glad that I got to know her better when I went to work at Three Chopt Presbyterian. Please know that my heart goes out to you and the girls but heaven is a better place today because of her and yes, I bet she is teaching up there now, she loved her students so much. My prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

I was so saddened to hear that my dear friend had passed. We went to Waynesboro high school together and lived on the same street, Poplar Ave. I spent many a night at her house with the most loving parents I have ever met! To hear that she was loved by her students just simply made sense... she never changed and was as sweet as her parents!

Mrs. Mcgee was my fourth grade teacher at JDES in 1970. Out of all my teachers throughout my many years of education, I hold some of my fondest memories for her. While it saddens me to think she has left this earth, I am sure she had earned her place, in God's heaven above. Our thoughts and prayers go out to each of you during this time.

To the family of Joyce McGee,
I am so sorry to hear of Joyce's passing. She taught all three of my boys at Jackson Davis, and I was her head room parent one of the years. It was a pleasure getting to know her personally during that time. I so appreciated her kindness and concern for her students. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.

To Lisa, Laurie and Mr. McGee,
My deepest sympathies go out to each of you in the passing of your mother and wife. She was not only a great teacher loved by many, but a great mom and I remember so many times visiting your home and she treated me like one of her own. I am sorry that it has been so many years since I have been in touch and I did not know that Mrs. McGee had been ill. I am sure you know that Heaven now has another great teacher among the many angels and that your Mom touched many people, especially the students, in her life. My thoughts and prayers are with you all as you face the days ahead.

I was saddened to hear of the death of Ms. McGee. She was my 4th grade teacher, and I have wonderful memories of that school year. She was truly a gifted teacher. I now have my Ph.D., but I would never have made it this far without teachers like Ms. McGee who supported and inspired me. Best wishes to her family during this difficult time.

McGee Family: I want you to know that Joyce holds such a special place in our family's hearts. I first knew Joyce as a friend of my mother-in-law and co-teacher at Jackson Davis. Later, Joyce taught our oldest son and my husband and I were so grateful that he was in her class. What an incredible person, teacher and friend. We will never forget her and our prayer is that your memories will sustain you. With our deepest sympathy, Isy, George, Will and George Sadler
