Rice, Joyce B. Muskegon Joyce Beverly Rice, age 95, passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, November 22, 2022. Joyce was born on November 15, 1927, in Muskegon, MI, to her parents Perry and Lucille (Dowland) Bacon. In 1946 she married Glen Rice, and they spent 75 wonderful years together before he preceded her in death in February 9, 2022. Joyce was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her three daughters. In her younger years she enjoyed bowling at Northway Lanes, but more recently she enjoyed looking for good deals at auctions, listening to polka music, and occasionally gambling at the casino. Joyce will be lovingly remembered by two daughters: Dianne (Thomas Priest) Rice and Nancy (Dennis) Cook; eight grandchildren: Susan Golliver, Karen Stout, Kimmy Beets, Jodi Myers, Brad TenBrink, Kyle Karum, Tyler Karum, and Chloe Bossman; 15 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Dennison; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Lucille Bacon; husband, Glen Rice; daughter, Sharon Schroeder; three brothers: Perry, Robert, and Richard Bacon; and four sisters: Elaine Dailey, Earlene Lefluer, Marjorie Shepard, and Donna Clark. A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Joyce and Glen will be taking place at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 1, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI, 49444, with VISITATION taking place an hour prior.
