Joyce Breeden Riley

HANOVER CHAPEL
Mrs. Gloria Joyce Breeden Riley, age 78 of Seymour, Indiana and formerly of Scottsburg and Madison, entered this life on September 20, 1943 in Campbellsburg, Kentucky. She was the loving daughter of the late Levi and Mary Virginia Miles Breeden. She was raised early in life in Kentucky and later in Madison where she attended school. On July 2, 1962, she was united in marriage to Elbert Ellis Riley in Madison, Indiana by Brother Kiser. This happy union of 56 years was blessed with three sons, Ellis Levi, Jeffrey and Henry. She was a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother. She worked in nursing homes and also served as an activities assistant. She resided in Scottsburg for many years and later in Seymour. She was a member of the Rock of Hope Apostolic Church in Sellersburg, Indiana. She enjoyed serving her church, fishing, going to flea markets and taking care of her family. A LOVING FAMILY
Joyce will be missed by her loving sons, Ellis Riley of Charlestown, Indiana, and Henry "Hank" Riley of Scottsburg, Indiana; her grandchildren, Leray Riley, Brandon Riley, Eric Riley, David Riley, Tyler Riley, Elisha Riley Roach, and Macenzy Riley; her great grandchildren, Bailey, Eli, Brantley, Isaac, Olivia, Arrow and Brooklynn; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Levi Breeden, died September 5, 1997, her mother, Mary Virginia Miles Breeden, died April 16, 1976, her step mother, Ada Pearl McDowell Breeden, died November 20, 1994, her husband of 56 years, Elbert Ellis Riley, died December 4, 2018, her son, Jeffrey L. Riley, died May 25, 2020, her daughter in law, Rebecca Elizabeth "Beckey" Riley, died August 13, 2015, her sister, Flora Belle Breeden Larrison, died January 13, 2010, her brothers, Louis Thomas Breeden, died July 31, 1934, Vernon R. Breeden, died August 5, 1986, and Robert L. Breeden, died October 29, 1997.
FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 11:00 am, by Rev. Jonathan Mains at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre - Hanover Chapel, 278 East Main Street in Hanover, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Ryker's Ridge New Cemetery in Madison, Indiana.
