Joyce Roach

Funeral services for Joyce Roach, 73, of Elmo, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 22, 2009, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Rev. Ron Dummer officiating. Interment will follow at Bright Star Cemetery north of Wills Point. She passed away early Sunday morning, October 18, 2009, in a Terrell Hospital. Joyce was born May 19, 1936, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, the daughter of William Oscar Hinson and Exir Vera McCain Hinson. She was raised in the Mt. Pleasant area where she attended school. On September 2, 1952, she married David Eli Roach in Mt. Pleasant. In her earlier years while living in California, she was a hairstylist. While her husband was serving our country, she lived in many different places. In her spare time, she enjoyed painting. She lived in Dallas prior to moving to Elmo approximately thirty years ago. Joyce was a member of Seven Oaks Baptist Church north of Wills Point. Preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, William Hinson, Claude Hinson and Charles Lindburg Hinson and two sisters, Vera Hinson and Helen Hinson. Joyce is survived by her husband, David Eli Roach, of Elmo; three sons, Roger Roach, of Murphy, David Kyle Roach & wife, Angela, of Mesquite and Michael Roach & wife, Vicky, of Seagoville; daughter, Melissa Pounds & husband, Mike, of Mesquite; two brothers, Odis Hinson & wife, Elsie, of Cobb Community and Otis P. Hinson & wife, Candi, of Wills Point; sixteen grandchildren, Nick Roach, Matthew Roach, Christopher Roach, David Roach, Cody Roach, Olivia Roach, Logan Roach, Danielle Roach, Rachelle Rannigan, Shannon Lennamon, Lauren Boyd, Joshua Boyd, Gabrielle Castleberry, Kristy, Cheryl and Shelley and six great-grandchildren, Haleigh, Jacob, Logan, Kaylee, James and Katherine. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p. m.
