Born in Kings Mountain, she was the wife of Richard Don Roark and the daughter of the late John Emmett and Cora Ethel Farris Childers. She was a member of David Baptist Church and retired as office manager from Foust Textiles. She was the best wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved God, as well as her family, with all of her heart.
In addition to her husband, Joyce is survived by her daughters, Lisa Ann Roark Howell (Mark) and Donna Marie Roark; three grandchildren, Zachary Alan Howell (Kayla), Alex Ryan Howell (Stephanie), and Nicholas Christian Howell (Carli); her great-grandchildren, Luke Alexander Howell, Lydia Nicole Howell, Rylee Kate Howell (arriving in May), and a great-grandchild arriving in October; and her faithful fur-baby, Sophie.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mick Caldwell, Faye Lovelace, Dot Spearman, and Betty Childers.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, March 20th, 2026 at 11:00 am at David Baptist Church, 2300 David Baptist Church Road, Kings Mountain, NC with Rev. Brian Taule officiating.
