Joyce Isabelle Roemer

Joyce Isabelle Roemer, 88, of Hartford, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Brookfield, Wisconsin.
Joyce was born on 18 June, 1937 at her parents' farm in Hartford, Wisconsin. Her parents were Harold and Ramona (Janz) Boyd.
Joyce was known as a loving mother of five children. One of her favorite activities was spending time with young children in the family, she truly loved doing this. She was a member of Saint John's United Church of Christ in Hartford for many years, supporting numerous events during her lifetime. She spent her early years doing chores on her parent's dairy farm. She played the piano and sang in the church choir. She held numerous jobs to include working as a nursing assistant at the Hustisford Hospital, serving as a housekeeper for the priests at Holy Hill, and working part time at Marty Zivko's Ballroom. She was a very talented cook and baker, receiving lots of recognition in the Hartford Time Press for many of her recipes. She was an avid Milwaukee Brewer fan and a shareholder owner of the Green Bay Packers. One of her passions was listening to music, singing along, and dancing if she could.
She is survived by her five children - Darrell Herriges (Bev-Ann), Kirk Herriges (Wendy), Debra Helt (Scott), Kevin Herriges, and Shawn Roemer. Eight grandchildren survived her -- Audra Herriges, Amber Herriges, Zachary Herriges, Eric Enders, Justin Enders, Ashley Toth, Brook-Ann Helt, and Tyler Helt. She was also a proud great- grandmother of eight children - Tannor, Tylie, Olivia, Justin Jr., Tristan, Annabelle, Bryce, and Carson. She is also survived by her brother Hal Boyd and her sister Mary Noll.
She was preceded in death by husbands Albert Herriges and Ralph Roemer; her brother James Boyd, sister Janet Feutz and grandson Travis Herriges.
Funeral Services for Joyce will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union St., Hartford, WI 53027). Family will greet relatives and friends from 10:30 a.m. until the start of service at 12:30 p.m. Burial will take place immediately following service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford, WI. Rev. Matt Schneider Adams will be officiating.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the numerous caregivers who supported Joyce in her later years and the wonderful people who visited with her.
