Joyce Rossman

Joyce Elaine (Dahl) Rossman, age 84 of rural Jenera, died at 2:18pm on Sunday March 8th 2026 at Birchaven Village in Findlay.

Joyce was born on May 11, 1941 in Connellsville, PA to the late Charles and Mary (Barkley) Dahl and was baptized and confirmed in the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Jenera on January 27, 1963 with her confirmation verse, Revelation 2:10, Be thou faithful unto death and I will give you a crown of life. She grew up in the foothills of southwestern Pennsylvania.

Joyce met Lowell Rossman while attending the University of Findlay and they were married on January 28, 1961 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera, Ohio by the Reverend Bradke. She is survived by a son, Todd (Susan) Rossman of rural Jenera; and a daughter, Natalie (Bryan) Miller, also of rural Jenera.

Joyce has five grand children; Kayla (Colin) Ketterer, Kyle (Molly) Rossman, Hannah Miller, Clay Miller and Riley Miller and three great grandchildren Brooks Ketterer, Cooper Ketterer and Isla Rossman.

She is also survived by her sister Jean (George) Shipley.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lowell Rossman and brother Bill (Shirley) Dahl.

Joyce worked as a secretary for the Bellevue City Schools and Garwood industries in Findlay, Ohio.

She graduated from Findlay College in 1970 and then taught first, second, and third grades at Cory-Rawson until her retirement in 2001.

She was a member of the Trinity Relay for Life Team, taught Sunday School and was a substitute teacher on occasion for Trinity Lutheran School in Jenera. She also served in the Ladies' Aid.

She enjoyed music and playing piano, painting on canvas, reading, writing, being outdoors, gardening, puzzles, traveling, teaching children and best of all spending time with her wonderful family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026 from 2:00 - 4:00 & 5:00 - 7:00 PM at CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Arlington. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jenera with additional visitation for one hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Pastor Krueger will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery.
