Joyce Nancy Sadowski

Joyce Nancy Sadowski (nee Lakin), beloved wife and mother passed away peacefully on November 29th, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on November 19th, 1949, in Alpena, Michigan, Joyce's loving, compassionate and generous nature touched the lives of all who knew her.

A longtime resident of Shelby Township, Michigan, Joyce dedicated her life to her family serving as a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. Her home always had an open door to all. She created a home in which her children's friends enjoyed spending time. Many of them thought of her as a second mom; some called her Mom. In time their children called her Grandma Joyce. That was one of her greatest joys. She enjoyed going to garage sales, crafting, scrapbooking, camping, cooking and baking. She was an animal lover, especially of dogs. The dogs of her household were part of the family.

Joyce leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and cherished memories. She is survived by her devoted husband Joseph V. Sadowski, loving daughter Julie (Allan) Schmitz and loving sister Cathy Sykes. Joyce was predeceased by her mother June Lakin, father Glen Lakin and beloved son Ryan Sadowski.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Saturday, December 6th, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Wasik Funeral Home in Shelby Township, Michigan. A funeral service will be held in the midst of the visitation at the same location at 4:30 pm.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wasik Funeral Home-Shelby Township. Joyce's warmth, creativity, and love will be missed dearly, but memories of her will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
