Joyce Ann Shepek

Joyce Ann Shepek, daughter of Johnny and Bernice (Grubbs) Sorell, was born in Fairbury, Nebraska on April 6, 1950. As an only child, she grew up in Mahaska, Kansas, and attended elementary school there. Later, she attended Fairbury schools. On December 26, 1964, she was united in marriage to Jimmy Shepek in Belleville, and to this union two sons, Jimmy and Jory, were born.
Joyce loved her sons and their activities, going shopping, and her 1979 Trans Am. She was a collector of many things, a fan of Elvis and her many shoes. Joyce always had to make sure her hair was just right and her make-up on properly, then it was off to the casino for a day of entertainment.
Joyce was devastated by the sudden loss of her son, sheriff's deputy Jimmy Jon Shepek of Belleville in 2014; she was also preceded in death by her parents.
Joyce passed from this life Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at Bryan Medical Center East, Lincoln, Nebraska. Those to mourn her passing include her husband of 55 years Jimmy Joe Shepek; son Jory and wife Jody and their children, Bryanne, Allexia and Catie; many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Cremation was chosen, there will be no visitation. Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2019, at 11:00 am, at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home in Belleville, Kansas. Private Family Inurnment will be at Belleville City Cemetery.
Memorials are requested to the family's choice, and may be sent in care of the funeral homes.
