Mrs. Joyce M. "Jodi" Shinolt

Joyce M. "Jodi" Shinolt, 79, passed from this life on November 1, 2025 at Columbus Regional Hospital. Born on March 22, 1946, to Raymond C. and Edith Dine Bailey in the humble town of Hartsville, Indiana, Jodi was a vibrant soul who brought light and love into the lives of everyone who knew her.
Jodi married Charles "Chuck" Shinolt on June 22, 1988 and they were married until his passing on April 13, 2014.
Jodi was a very loyal worker, working for the Social Security Administration for over 30 years and then for an additional 27 years as the office manager for Bailey's Softwater Systems.
Having grown up as one of eleven children, she learned the value of family early in life, a principle she carried with her through the years. Jodi is lovingly remembered by her son, Brian R. Bailey of Edinburgh. Her legacy also lives on through her adoring grandchildren, Brian R. Bailey II, Bethany (Javon) Knight, and Kristen Bailey, all residing in Columbus. Her great-grandchildren, Atlas Bailey, Javina Knight, Jakeevon Knight, Kelson Bailey, and Karmyn Bailey, were the recipients of her endless affection and will miss her terribly.
Jodi is preceded in death by, her loving husband Chuck Shinolt; her parents, Raymond and Edith; her brothers, Bud, Donald, Bill, Pete, and Morris Glenn Bailey; her sisters, Wilma Franklin, Bernice Knight, Alberta Hammer, Mary Garvey, and Thelma Bailey; and her grandson, Michael Andrew Bailey.
Joyce had many hobbies as she lived her life, but none were more important than her family. She was a devout mother, grandmother and a loving and caring great-grandmother. She cherished all her family with her entire being.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street, with Pastor Scott Bourland officiating. Family and friends may gather for visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time Thursday.
Joyce will be laid to rest at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, Indiana.
