Joyce Maxine Trevethan, age 87, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025, in Bradenton, Florida with family by her side. She was born on December 4, 1937, in Flint, Michigan to the late Estel and Edna Ryal.
She was married to the love of her life, Richard Trevethan, on October 27, 1956. Dick and Joyce moved to Cheshire, CT and lived a full life raising their children. Joyce especially loved the holiday season. She put great effort into making it special for family and friends year after year. Joyce retired from the phone company and was the President of the Cheshire Junior Women’s Club and Past President and Life Member of the Cheshire Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary among many other community achievements she championed. Dick and Joyce retired to Florida where Joyce opened Dolls of Yorkshire and was a member of the International Foundation of Doll Makers.
Joyce is predeceased by her husband Dick and her daughter Karen Trevethan Johnson. She is survived by her sons Rick (Diana) Trevethan of Newington, CT, Tom Trevethan of Ellenton, FL and Bob (Britta) Trevethan of Palm Coast, FL and her daughter Judy Bintliff of North Port, FL, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to greet the family on Friday, July 11, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home, 615 South Main Street, Cheshire, CT. A Memorial Service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
