Joyce E. Wagner, 91, of Beavertown, entered into rest on January 2, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Born on April 15, 1934, in Lewisburg, Joyce was the daughter of the late James Hanselman and Katherine (Minnig) Hanselman.
Joyce was a graduate of Mifflinburg High School, Class of 1952.
She worked as a tax professional with H&R Block in Milton and also owned and operated Wagner Ceramics in Cowan. Joyce enjoyed staying busy and took pride in her work throughout her life.
Joyce was a member of Susquehanna Valley United Church of Christ in Selinsgrove, where she assisted with the preschool program. She enjoyed square dancing, loved crocheting, and treasured making handmade items for her grandchildren, who will forever cherish her creations. Joyce was an avid reader who especially loved romance novels and was rarely without a book nearby. She loved people and always enjoyed having others around her. In her earlier years, she also enjoyed roller skating.
Surviving are her children: Kathy Zimmerman, wife of William, of Mifflinburg; Wanda Boop, wife of Preston, of Mifflinburg; James Wagner of Pittsburgh; Michael Wagner, husband of Sharon, of Mifflinburg; John Wagner, husband of Sharon, of Sunbury; Lori Zechman, wife of Alan, of Beavertown; John Thomas, husband of Deb, of Mount Pleasant Mills; Polly Swank, wife of Jeff, of Sunbury; Connie Walter, wife of Ken, of McClure; and Denise Thomas of New Bloomfield. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law, Faye Hanselman and Jean Hanselman, both of Mifflinburg.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her companion of 25 years, John Thomas; her daughter, Tina Wagner; and her sons, Leroy Wagner, Jr., and Rick Wagner.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Susquehanna Valley United Church of Christ, Selinsgrove, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joyce’s memory to Susquehanna Valley United Church of Christ, 200 Roosevelt Avenue, Selinsgrove, PA 17870.
