Joyce Inez Jones Walker

Joyce "Sang" Inez Walker began her son August 16, 1946 in Elgin, Texas after God had entrusted her to her parents Mr. Henry Jones, Sr. and Mrs. Jesse King-Jones. Her special delivery was by Mrs. Sweetie Johnson (midwife) who brought music to our ears. Her opera continued up until May 10, 2013 at 5:30 a.m. when it came to its final earthly note. It was transferred to Heaven's choir. Sang attended Anderson High School in Austin, Texas. After graduation from high school with a Certified Nurses Assistant certificate, she worked at Haywood's Nursing Home. She married Roy Johnson and to this union two children were born, Sheryl and Delvin Johnson. A second marriage to Carvin Walker, Sr. produced another son, Carvin Walker, Jr. Her parents, daughters, Inez and Sheryl, five brothers, john, Henry, Jr., Leo Dell, Andrew and Maurice preceded her in death. Sang will be missed by two sons, Carvin Jr. and Delvin of Austin, Texas; two sisters, Iowa Reese of Austin, Texas and Bettye Jones of Portland, Oregon; one brother Oliver Jones (Leslie) of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
