Joyce A. Watkins, of Cave City, Arkansas, passed away peacefully surrounded by those who loved her deeply. Joyce was born April 20, 1947 to Carl H. Tuttle and Opal B. (Huffman) Tuttle in Wooster, Ohio.

Joyce’s life was a testament to service, compassion, faith, and family. She was a caregiver at heart in every sense of the word. She served as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), a devoted pastor’s wife, a youth leader, and a constant source of help and encouragement to anyone in need. Whether it was offering a warm meal, a listening ear, or a helping hand, Joyce quietly lived out her faith through service. For many years, she faithfully prepared Sunday dinners for family and friends, always striving for togetherness—and she was especially known for making the perfect golden apple pie.

Family meant everything to Joyce. She treasured time spent with her loved ones and had a deep affection for her animals—especially her beloved dogs and cows. When time allowed, she enjoyed trying new crafts such as cross-stitch, sewing, floral arranging, and candy making. She also loved playing the piano, attending theater productions, reading good books, and going to Christian concerts.

Joyce had a special heart for children and youth. She taught Bible studies, led youth groups, and once proudly led a Brownie troop. Though she sometimes struggled to get jokes quite right, she always loved to laugh—and her warm smile was a constant presence to those around her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Watkins of Cave City; her parents; her sister, Kaye Johnson; her brother, Chuck Tuttle, and sister-in-law, Grace Tuttle.

Joyce is survived by her daughters, Wendy Howard (Brad) of Cave City; Nikki Penn (Billy) of Cave City; Sheena Bullock (Zeke) of Farmington, Missouri; her son, Tony Buck of Searcy; four grandchildren—Joseph Howard (Mary), Micah Davis, Jaxon Davis, and Audrey Davis; four great-grandchildren—Caleb Howard, Nathan Howard, Natalie Howard, and Bella Anorve; along with many nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

In accordance with Joyce’s wishes, she was cremated. A church worship service honoring her life will be held on February 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Cave City Assembly of God, featuring Joyce’s favorite hymns and a message by Brother Bobby Sanders. Following the service, a meal will be served with Joyce’s favorite foods, shared in an environment that reflects all things Joyce.

Family and friends are invited to bring a favorite photo or cherished memory to help celebrate and honor her life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Batesville Humane Society, a cause close to Joyce’s heart.
