Our beloved Joyce left her earthly body for heaven on Monday, April 22, 2024, at Bayview Nursing Facility in Eustis, FL.  Joyce was 82, the New Year’s baby on  Jan 1st, 1942, born in Berlin, WI to Marvin and Eileen (Nutting) Booth of Redgranite, WI where she was raised with her younger brother Frank.  She attended St. Mark’s Catholic Church, graduated from Wautoma High School in 1959 and pursued a degree in Secretarial Science in Milwaukee, WI.   Shortly after she married Charles Poff on Nov 29th, 1962, and they resided in Ohio with their two sons, Charles Jr. and Marvin and frequently visited WI.  Joyce yearned for a more challenging career and relocated to Apopka, FL and married Bernard Welch Sr. in 1976 where they resided until his death. Joyce purchased a small house in Eustis which was a project to do the plumbing, electrical, flooring and much TLC and was fortunate to have her son Marvin to help when he was available. Joyce had a long career with Vista-United Telecommunications Company (an independent company for Walt Disney World) for 28 years prior to her retirement.  She was an active member of St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church in Eustis since 1996.   Her service to the church included authoring the History Book of St. Mary’s Parish as well as many other roles including choir, reading in Mass and being a part of Parish activities.  Her church family meant the world to her and when her mother permanently moved to Eustis, they would attend Mass and go to dinner with friends. Joyce had countless interests, sewing, crafting, jewelry-making, bird watching, planting, re-furbishing her home, constantly repairing countless holes dug under her fence by her doggies (she always had one or two precious companions). Researching the Booth Family Tree she was so excited to have the internet so she could precisely identify our history back to mid-1600s! Practicing her choral music and learning the flutophone for church she thoroughly enjoyed.  Joyce had a voracious appetite for reading as continually learning and challenging herself.   Even joining the local gym to take classes and meet new friends. If you knew her, you clearly understood her jokes and there were many.  Her travels included visiting her grandson in MD, especially when he was young and would take her mother too. Her joy was planning trips with her granddaughter to visit WI as well as going out of the country for an adventure.  In 2009 she planned a wonderful train ride out West to Seattle with her brother with the highlight being the Space Needle. She loved watching her grandchildren grow up and was always supportive of each as well as spending holidays and family occasions at her daughter-in-law’s home. Teresa was also her personal hair/make-up artist as Joyce would always try something new.   One of her last trips was to WI to visit her sister-in law and long-time friends as she felt ‘at peace’ being back at home. Survivors mourning her loss are her two grandchildren, CJ (Ashley) and their daughter in Maryland and Hailey and her young daughter in Grand Island. Her daughter-in law Teresa Poff in Grand Island. Her sister-in-law Donna Booth, niece Dawn (her grown children Hunter and Caitlin) in WI and her other niece Connie in FL. Mass will be held Monday May 20th, 2024 @ 10am St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, 218 Ocklawaha Avenue in Eustis, FL   32726. Memorials can be made to the charities of your choice or plant a tree in her memory by visiting the Sympathy store.   Harden-Pauli Funeral Home will be serving the family in Eustis. Joyce’s final resting place will be at Borth Community Church Cemetery in Borth, WI buried aside her brother Frank.  A private service with Immediate family will be served by Ruminski Funeral Home of Redgranite, WI.

To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
