Joylynn “Joy” “ Meme” Rousse, 70, native of Larose and Resident of Cut Off, passed away on Friday, November 29th, 2024. 

Joy is survived by her husband of 51 years, Glenn A. Rousse; daughters, Kristy (Rhett) Monier, and Keri (Pierce) Pitre; grandchildren, Rory and Reese Monier, and Baylen Pitre; step-mother, Judy Williams Callais; brother, Dudley (Pam) Callais Jr.; sister and Godchild, Sharon Evans; stepbrothers, Raymond and Edward (Becky) Williams; brother in-law, Wayne (Michele) Rousse; sister in-law, Lisa (Trey) Arcemont; two additional Godchildren, many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. 

Joy was proceeded in death by her parents, Dudley Sr. and Hazel Callais; grandparents, Edna Sapia Cadiere, and Mr. & Mrs. Andrew Callais Sr. 

In lieu of flowers the family asks you to make donations to The American Cancer Society or The Louisiana Lions Club Camp for Crippled Children at 292 L. Beauford Drive, Anacoco, LA 71403 in her name. 

Special thanks to Thibodaux Regional Cancer Center and to East Jefferson General Hospital. 

A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5th, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off, LA, from 10:00AM to 12:00PM. A mass of Christian burial will begin at 12:00PM with burial following in the church cemetery.
