Juan Batista, passed away on Thursday, September 18, at the age

of 60. Born on September 2, 1965 in New York, Juan was the

cherished child of Buenaventura and Fresolina Batista.

Juan attended the Brooklyn Tech High School and then went on

to attend Brooklyn College, CUNY, where he graduated with a

Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts. He worked in his dad's

restaurant before becoming a counselor for the Covenant House

team. From there, he went on to become a Field Technician at

Verizon Communications for twenty-seven years.

To know Juan was to know kindness. He had a gift for making

others feel at ease, and his warmth left an imprint on everyone

who crossed his path. Whether through a gentle smile, a listening

ear, or a helping hand, Juan made the world a brighter place.

He especially treasured time with family - holiday gatherings,

birthdays, dinners, and so much more. Beyond family, Juan found

joy in playing pool, a good game of chess, reading and scuba

diving.

Juan is survived by his mom, Fresolina Batista, siblings: Delicia,

Rosa, José, Maria, Annie and Angela, nieces and nephews: Chrissy,

Jay, Kenny, Alysa, Matthew and Milo. He is preceded in death by

his dad, Buenaventura Batista.

He will be remembered with love by countless relatives and

friends.

While his earthly presence has passed, his spirit remains close.
