Juan Gamboa (Plainview) Obituary
Juan Jose Gamboa, 93, of Plainview passed away on Wednesday May 14, 2025. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday May 19, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Plainview. Interment will follow at Plainview Cemetery.
A rosary will be held at 6:00P.M. Sunday, May 18, 2025 at the Kornerstone Funeral Directors.
Jose was born on June 16, 1931, in Tynan, Texas to Gabriel and Feliciana Gamboa. He married Antonia Rangel on April 30, 1950, in Laredo, Texas. They were married for 30 years. He then married Emma Moreno in 1987. They were married for 7 years. He enjoyed football and was an avid Dallas Cowboy’s fan. Jose was a mechanic and owned “Joe’s Garage”. He loved working with cars and talking shop with anyone that would sit with him. He enjoyed singing and playing guitar. He also enjoyed spending time with family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one infant daughter, Rosita Gamboa; one brother Jesus Gamboa, one sister Maria Salazar and two grandsons Jesus Gamboa and infant Matthias Angel Gamboa.
Jose is survived by six sons, Johnny Gamboa & wife Adelita of Plainview, Gerardo Gamboa & wife Amelia of Hale Center, Raul Gamboa & wife Amy of Flower Mound, Lewis Gamboa & wife Laura of Houston, Gabriel Gamboa of Plainview, Jose Luis Gamboa & wife Ashley of Plainview; five daughters, Leticia Flores of Plainview, Anita Chavez & husband Mike of Lubbock, Hope Gamboa of Plainview, Ramona Sullins & husband Rodney of Bentonville, AR, and Janie Gonzales & husband Timothy of Lubbock; one brother Gabriel Gamboa of Plainview; twenty nine grandchildren; forty nine great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
