Juan L. Gonzales

Juan Lira Gonzales, of La Coste, Texas, passed away October 28, 2025 at the age of 75. He was born July 20, 1950 in Catarina, Texas, to Antonio E. Gonzales and Eudelia Lira Gonzales.

On August 5, 1968, Juan married Emma Dora Avila in Hondo, Texas. They were blessed with fifty-seven years of marriage and four children. For forty-seven years, Juan worked in road construction and for many of those years he was a construction foreman.

Survivors include his wife, Emma Gonzales of La Coste; children, Lillian Flores (Juan) of San Antonio, Jeanette Felan (Joe) of San Antonio, John Gonzales (Melissa) of San Antonio, and Thomas Gonzales (Nora) of Edinburg; grandchildren, Calista Gonzales, Draven Gonzales (Savannah), Jalynn Felan, Juleah Felan, and Logan Gonzales; great-grandchildren, Paisley Gonzales and Morgan Gonzales; siblings, Arturo Gonzales (Debbie), Alamar Duncan (Jesse), Lucy Mascorro (Lico), Robert Gonzales (Annette), and Sylvia Gonzales.

Juan was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Antonio "Tony" Gonzales, Jr., Ignacio Gonzales, Manuel Gonzales, Rudolfo Gonzales, Victor Gonzales, Jose Gonzales, and Elida Ybarra.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 11, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, with the Holy Rosary recited at 5:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste, Texas. Services will conclude at the church.

Memorials may be made in Juan's memory to Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church or to the charity of your choice.
