Brother you've taught me a lot about being a stand up man. My fondest memory is the time where you stayed after your shift to help me work on my jump shot. Even though we were physically working on basketball, you gave me a lot of mental nuggets about how to deal with life and being a new chief. You are the reason i love reaching out to people because at one of the most confusing times in life, you reached out to me through one common interest and gave me tools to live by my entire life. You can never be duplicated but you can always be admired. I not only admire the person you are but strive daily to live up the example of what leaving a legacy can be.

Coach I can't believe this happened to you so soon but sadly it's reality. Ever since you became my coach, you would always push me to become a better person. Sometimes I would be difficult on you but you wouldn't give up on me. You taught me how to work harder, how to be tough through situations, and how to overcome obstacles. I look back and smile and sometimes laugh a bit due to the amount of times you hav trained and kicked our butts through the exercises. Among those years I had fun with you and everyone else. Rest easy coach. We love you we will never forget you . RI P.

Juan, you had an amazing spirit and passion for helping others with a pay if forward mentality that was so inspirational. Every time we spoke, that passion was almost tangible to see. We were so very blessed to have you as a mentor to Roderick and will be forever grateful for you generosity. Yumi and Zion, we will keep you in our prayers and thoughts

We met Juan (coach Jones) when we lived in Yokosuka, Japan. Juan was a beloved friend. In addition to being the kindest man and most selfless man I've ever met, one who dedicated countless hours to the community and wanted all kids to succeed Juan was a winner. Juan always coached the best teams, they were always the hardest working, they were always the best dressed and it was a reflection of his leadership and passion and love of helping kids meet there fullest potential. My kids learned the value of hard work and being a caring person by being around him. Juan inspired our entire family to be the best we could be. Juan was a winner at the game of life, one who was playing chess when others were playing checkers. Our family is deeply saddened by not only his passing but the timing of it. His son Zion is truly a direct reflection of him. Life is not fair sometimes, I was left wondering how this could happen to such a great man and family at such an Important time. I know what a strong man and hard working son he built and I know Zion will also be destined for greatness. I only can sum it up by being grateful that we had an opportunity to know him and our hearts go out to yumi and Zion. We love you all.

I worked with Juan at the gym during my time in Japan. He was always so kind, funny and never thought twice about helping someone out. Before I left to move to the United States to attend college, Juan bought a voice recorder to use in my classes. Even in the smallest ways, Juan made it so you felt motivated to pursue your passions and dreams in life. I'll always remember Juan for the fun and humble shift leader he was. He was truly any amazing person. My condolences to his wife and son Zion, Juan had the biggest heart and I know even though he's not physically here anymore, he will continue always to make sure you, his family, and everyone that knew him are okay.
Rest in Heaven Juan, you'll always be missed
