Juan Ramon Maldonado, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away December 7, 2024, at the age of 74. He was born on April 3, 1950, and his life was a rich tapestry of joy, love, and creativity.
Juan was known for his vibrant spirit and zest for life. He loved to dance, and singing was his true passion. His charisma made him the life of the party, and he relished every moment spent entertaining family and friends in his home. Juan's warmth and laughter made everyone feel welcomed, and his dedication to bringing joy to others was a hallmark of his character.
He shared a loving partnership of 51 years with his wife, RoseMary "Rosie" Maldonado, who was the love of his life. Together, they raised a beautiful family, including their children, John Michael (Michelle) Maldonado and Rosalie Maldonado Duque, grandson James Torrez (Leslie); Juan is also survived by his siblings, Guadalupe Trevino, Francis (Mariano) De Leon, and Mary Sobrevilla. He is also remembered by numerous nieces and nephews who cherished his presence in their lives.
Juan has been reunited with his beloved parents, Claudio and Francisca Maldonado, as well as his brothers, Angel Maldonado, Sr., Claudio Maldonado, Jr., and Apolonio Maldonado. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Petra Gamboa, and brothers-in-law, Pete Gamboa, Juan Sobrevilla, and Adolfo Trevino; nieces Roxanne Alanis and Lorena Gamboa, and nephews Ricky Maldonado, Marco Antonio De Leon, Carlo Alberto De Leon, and Philip Gamboa.
Visitation on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 from 4:00PM-8:00PM with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30PM at Puente and Sons Funeral Chapel, 3520 S. Flores, San Antonio, Texas 78204. Thursday, December 19, 2024 a Mass of Celebration will be conducted at St. Joseph's South San Catholic Church at 11:15AM with the burial to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:15PM.
